  6. okay here we go yesterday evening i did the first doo panel. I liked to start with the easyist stuff so i can take a look how my machine works and so on. I meet the limits of my machine pretty fast yesterday and xould bite my *** off why i was not spending a few dollars more . Anyway i have to go threw now with what i got :)
One problem i allway have is i try to go over the top, So i did yesterday. I realized my machine is not able to do one keder above the other. So in future a have to avoid this. A other thing i learned is if you glue the foam to the vinyl you will see the glue thrue, **** happens. This is my first interior i do , so it wont be perfect and costs me all in mall maybe 1500$ Thats maybe exactly a tenth of what a shop would charge for this.
Here are a few pics , the padding was done with two layers of thin foam. Was too much for the maching . So i have two solutions to fix that. Pad it after sewing or go thiner. i will go thiner and take a look how it looks. Sorry for the bad pic but it was allready pretty late , or early as you want :)

pic one is the vinyl with the spray on glue
no pics of the padding, they will folow

A man after my own heart. I have been building cars for 50+ years and have learned how to weld, build engines and do ch***is work but I always had to pay someone to do the interiors.

It has been too cold to work in the shop so I did some research and bought a used Consew 206RB-1 sewing machine, three good books and some practice vinyl material. There are some "gotcha" moments and I have been filling the trash can but I have mastered the simple roll and pleat stuff.

It is a new kind of fun and at the end of the day you're just tired, not greasy.

  9. okay found some time today and was working on . i striped basicly all the upholstery and re upholstered it. Over the bare springs i did some coconut/rubber compund mats, then the foam and finaly a layer of cloth to cover all. tomorow i wanna finish all and then i start to sew the seatcovers
