another dumb question

    help i installed a ignitor in a mallory duel point dist car runs but had a miss started pulling wires found on cylender dead. ok replaced plug still dead done some checks and found out i have no fire to the plug on this one cylender replaced wire still no fire pulled wire out of cap no fire from cap to wire what have i done wrong im getting nothing out of the cap on this one cylender the rest of them fire fine anyone herd of this ????ugh please help by the way its a 351 windsor ford its a new dist new cap and rotor and i done a low voltage test

    Swap cap,could be cracked. New these days doesnt mean it works.

    Sounds like you already answered your own question, sort of. Put the old cap and rotor back on for trouble shooting purposes. It probably will solve the miss fire problem.

    well i installed another cap it done the same thing no fire to #4 cylender ok so i took dist back apart to see if i noticed anything took magnet sleeve off inspected it didnt see anything put it back on and started car now #4 was firing but still had a miss checked cylenders and now another one is doing the same thing no spark . has anyone ran into this before could the magnet sleeve be bad ??? ugh i fill like burning the thing
