  4. Too little, too late. That's what happens when someones too "proud" of what they've got, won't let anyone else enjoy, and it turns to shit, and it becomes good for nothing. Too many people around here like that. This one guy's got 30-40 original paint muscle cars ROTTING in his backyard. Tri-power GTO converts, 69 Trans Ams, etc. ROTTING. He keeps saying (for the last 20 years) he'll restore them when he retires. I told him, if you ain't got the energy at 45 years old, what the fuck energy you gonna have TWENTY YEARS from now for whatever cars haven't vaporized back there? Too sad. I told him, sell half and build a garage with the money for the other half.

  5. The type and condition of these cars pictures- leans a little more towards the salvage end rather than being builders.....Sad but true.;)

Not much in there worth salvaging anymore, most of the stuff is in a terrible state. Some fenders or panels may be usable but for the most part it is crap. A friend knows this place well as he was raised in this town, knew the yard and the one that used to exist next door which was much bigger.

As late as yesterday we were offered, by the owner, all of the cars for $100 each, up from the $75 each of four years ago. The guy with the ebay auction is a friend of the family and owns the bordering land, he has turned down offers of $7000 from the auction but after speaking with the owner he was told to take the next offer at that amount.

There is a Merc coupe in the corner, second to last car from the back, something may be good on this one but it has a tree trying to grow through the left rear. There is a Lincoln 377" flathead and several Ford flatheads all in various states of disrepair.

Most of the roofs have collapsed and are eaten through. There are a few trim pieces laying around but not much good. A couple of the grilles are salvageable, most of the stuff is rough and pitted.

Sounds like they are clearing the land as they have someone who wants the trees and will cut them down to take away...

    The Merc...

Yeah, doesn't look like any of those cars are buildable, just parts. Still, lots of good stainless trims plus engines and bumpers for cores and stuff like that. Not a ton of great stuff but a shame if it all gets scrapped.

Yes, there are parts that people could use but the problem is having to drag these things out to get them and I very much doubt that the time and money invested in such an undertaking is going to net anyone enough pieces to make it viable.

I would love to do it but only if I could do it at my own pace and as a labor of love.

The biggest shame, as always, is that these places become available like this way too late. I know that this hasn't been a "closed" yard and people have bought stuff from here before but several years ago this would have been more valuable to the owner and any of us potential buyers.

It would be great to be able to do as paperdog suggests but would require a large commitment on the part of several people.

I see it "sold" for $6000.00, to someone who joined eBay the same day as the auction ended....hmmmmm...

I might do some more digging....
