I thought some might enjoy checking this thing out. It turns my crank. I think we all fantasize about owning an old race car. B/A drag racer
that looks to be the same guy that just sold an old sports custom not to long ago. if so he's got some cool stuff.
I notice it has different wheels on it. Marshall do you still have my front wheel bearings for my Hals that were on it?
Bearings? what bearing ? I an't got no stinking bearings. Hal, ya I know Hal he's a nice guy . On it? ya I've been on it, Its fun as long as you don't stand up Yes superbell you did lick my ass that day.
Side note about the roadster above, I just recieved this information and thought it was interesting. That roadster raced at Beechmont Dragway in Cincinnati, Ohio in the late 50's - early 60's. A feature is on page 78 in the June 1960 Hot Rod magazine, showing Gil and crew. Ran a '55 Chevy. bored to 283 with Offenhauser tripower intake, 97's, Chev factory fuel injection pistons. Rest of motor was stock. Turned 12.28 @ 116 at time of feature in Hot Rod. Ran Moon discs on steel wheels.
Pretty damn quick.. it's amazing what you can do with those 283's, I swear. Those old racers are cool... they are kinda ugly, but the history there is awesome, and to see it still around is even better.
Ugly? That's a little harsh I would think, in my eyes its pure early vintage racer and a thing of beauty. But different strokes for different folks.
