I know this had been brought up before, but I just have to post this. I'm looking for some off-the-shelf fenderwells for my project I am working on this winter. What the heck??? Why do they have ten million headers that fit a '55 for under $200 for a BIG BLOCK, but if you need some me for your belly button, every other car has one small block Chevy they are instantly $500-800??? I can find some for a dang Y-block Ford for $180 on the 'Bay, but God forbid they make one for sbc. It's not like anyone is building any trips five axle cars with a 350 in them or anything.... What's the deal?? Sorry, just had to put a rant out there in the universe.

On an aside, has anyone used the Speedway headers for "fat fender" cars on a later car? They look like the rearward tube is a little far back, and maybe they angle back a lot over all. The car in question isn't actually a '55, but a '60 (I just figured the tri five stuff would be cheap and easily adaptable-- not so much).

1958 to 64 are X frame cars and an animal all onto themselves. My brother has a 62 Impala with a 327and looked for years for a nice set at the swap meets. finally found them a couple years back, Tri fives and fat fenders are not even close. Larry

Different beasts, to be sure, but I got the idea from a couple other x frames I've seen on the forums that used some headers from a tri five and they seemed to work well. I was planning on maybe having to modify them to clear the steering shaft. At any rate, I will probably end up going home made. Thats the best way anyways, I just had to let out a WTF that a part for a small block Chevy is the more expensive option for once hahaha
