Hello, I'm new here as you can tell or I wouldn't be posting to the introductions forum.

My current project is a '62 Mercury Meteor. Little by little I'm cutting away the rust and boring stock parts to bring out the hidden gasser within. On the slab right now is a full boxed steel chassis with ladder bars in the rear and a Chevy '53 truck axel and leafs up front. A stroked 408W will power it hooked up to a C4 with trans brake. It still has a bit to go before I roll the new frame unerneath.

I've appreciated all the good stuff I've read here when I lurk. Thanks for the opportunity to hang out here and hopefully contribute.

    Holy cow! Sweet.

Who is "we" BTW? Is this a build for yourself? And what are your final plans, ie. street, strip, both...?

I like it. What are you using upfront? I've got an axel out of a '53 Chevy 3100 and I'm wondering what kind of box to use or if I should put a cross steer rack and pinion.

When were those pix taken? Are they recent, or are you farther along now?

Sorry, a lot of questions, I know, but I like knowin' there's someone out there with a common goal.

Nice. Thanks for the info. I would love an update here and there if possible. I like the car and I think it is a model that will look great as a gasser.

I remember Jill from the Crazyformercurys list. Her ride is lookin' nice, I hadn't seen top painted. Metalflake? Say "hi" from eflow and good to hear that the two of you are doing well and having fun with the Mercs.
