My name is Tate and I have lurked here for years, even joined a while back but never really posted or did an intro, but I will now. I originally come from Sarasota, FL, born there 35 some odd years ago, then lived in Tallahassee for the last 12 years give or take, then moved to Seattle last August. I have been around cars all my life, my father is an amatuer restorer and avid Ford guy, especially flatheads, though he has owned everything from Austin Healeys to antique fire trucks. Even my mother is into cars and can drive any of them, whether it be her 65 Galaxie conv. or their 40 ft. motorhome. When my parents got married she had a 60 Vette and my dad had a 60 Starliner(which he only told me recently upon seeing another). Anyway, let's just say I have been up to my ears in old cars, esp. Fords, all my life. I love VW's too, had the same one for 18 years now, but don't worry, I won't be talking about it here. When I lived in Florida I used to try to make it to the Turkey Rod Run whenever I could, made it about 7 of the past 10 years. Always a lot of***** to wade through, but enough good stuff and good times to make it worth it, at least in years past. Now I am up here in the Northwest and even better shows to go to.

I was a bartender and DJ for a lot of years in Florida(putting my degrees to good use), now working at a restaurant and trying to get on the Seattle Fire Dept.; my father and uncle were both firemen. I like a lot of things loud and fast, cars, bikes, and music (though I have mellowed a bit in all of these things) but I stay away from the loud and fast women, they cause me nothing but grief.

I never really did this intro thing before because I never really had a reason to post before, nothing to ask and not much to offer, but that is about to change. I had a 60 F100 recently, I think it is in my avatar, but I sold it because I just didn't enjoy driving it that much. Now I have another project, and man is it a project, but it is so much more of what I wanted. I just picked up a 1954 Ranchwagon, running and cheap, now I just have to make it stop and fix a lot of rust. I'll post some pics if I can figure that out.

Oh yeah, I can weld ok, play about 5 chords on a guitar, and can't sing worth a damn.

    Any questions, just ask.
