  1. Just a note to let you know who I am, and why im here. Im not real big on computers and ****,im still learning how it is suposed to work. My dad was a hot rodder and a biker ,he bought his first harley in 49@age 17.He had a34 three window with an olds in it in 53 ,was a member of the shifters car club in milton ont can. in the late 50s when they broke a world record with a home built rail dragster.Ive been fed this soup my whole life, so i guess i come by it honestly. I had a lot of great teachers over the years who were not afraid to let a new kid loose to learn, even if it was the hard way(you learn more by doing it wrong sometimes) Idid a ton of fabrication work ,painted some cars ,raced some hydroplanes, built some hotrod carsand trucks and generaly slugged away like everyone else on the planet untill i found Nick Rampling,an incredibly talented metal shaper and fabricator who showed me what i could realy do with a sheet of cold steel. That 3 year trip led me to a career in sheet metal shaping , a short stint on TV, and eventually to my own custom metal shaping and fabrication shop.(www.ksimmetal.com) (the reason toms shop is so clean is because his sheetmetal dirty work is done in my shop!!)Im just putting the final touches on a 51 studebaker milk truck rat with a1 ton GM ch***is andGM drive train (due out as soon as the snow clears)I love this site already, and hope i can catch on to this computer **** soon ,if i cant cut it ,chop it,weld it or hit it with a hammer its going to take some getting used to! keep it steel guys! K.

I just met the son of JJ Hoey he owned the rail dragster from THE SHIFTERS of Milton Ont. the years 1953-55 and had cl*** record between 60-63 the son. Said his dad still had alot of the original stuff I hope to hear from him I gave him my card. Anyone else have any old Ontairo club stuff?
