Proper name is Mark Wilson born in 1961 been in the RN, Fleet Air Arm since 1977 and still in, a helicopter mechanic by trade working on airframe and engines. (Tug being a forces nick name for anyone named Wilson) Got my interest in Drag racing and Hot Rods from my Dad who told stories of the early Drag Fests in the UK. Collected the mandatory Corgi Dragsters and built Revell kits (Priddles Mr Revell etc...) got my first National Dragster in 1970 ish then other mags followed. Rebuilt my dads Austin 7 special powered by Aquaplane equipped 1172 ford flattie, had that on the road for a couple of months until some plank ran into the back of it and wrote it off. Once I recovered I started to build a 27t until I found a Shay model A replica rotting in a field in Somerset, which for the past few years has been my on-going project. Car on road now. Helped crew mates BBC FED, briefly involved in a LSR project, need to live for at least 100 years to do all the projects floating around in my head, however the Shay will keep me sane. That's all folks. Tug
