Another henry J build

  1. Both of my doors are patched at the bottom too, the passenger door's patch is a piece of work. They folded the patch over the edge of the door and it sticks out damn near an extra 1/4 inch compared to the rest of it...lol

I just sold the one small block Boss Hoss 350/345 HP but this one is a 502 CI/502 HP.

It was fun until a botched inner ear operation destroyed my balance.

Question: Inside my windsheild frame are little rubber teeth. Were they from the rubber or headliner. I don't plan on running a headliner. If they were for that I'll eliminate them. If they were for the rubber, does newer rubber require them?

    Clik,
I think they are for the headliner. I just took my windshield out and don't recall seeing anything that would have anything to do with the windshield rubber. By the way, where do we get new rubber for the windshield, back glass, and door weather stripping?

Pretty good day. Got both doors repaired and got the rear rollpan stiffened up with conduit. Front rotors tomorrow and she'll be up on her front feet anyway. Going Tangerine orange for paint.

  6. This is the only guy that has them, he's old school and has no web site so you must call. I bought mine from him and they are perfect one piece rubbers.

  14. Ha Ha, you're talking to a guy with a Masters degree from that school...lol
From my understanding the Rudy guy was the only one, hell there might be others out there but I'm not aware of them. Wouldn't be bad to compare prices.

I used 1 1/16 OD Dom tubing 1/4 inch thick with 3/4 inch heim joints. It's the same tubing I use to make my 54 caliber smoothbore gun barrels. For the rear end gears, I think I will go with something in the 4.88 range. Not sure yet. I will use a spool in it. What's your thoughts on gears for a 1/8 and 1/4 mile track?

  19. Those were the two gear sets offerd in the broncos that's why I ask. It would depend on what rpm's you want your engine at while crossing the line. I used the 4.11's because I had an extra center section with those in it.
I've been hearing a few people runing the 4.30's more often than not lately, but it really depends on where you want the rpm's while crossing the line.

That's a good question on the RPM's. I'm just having fun. Not sure how high I want to turn the engine yet. LOL

  21. Jackie, you are on a roll and the work is first class.

That old car should be up and rolling soon.HRP

    Thanks Danny,
I hope to have it rolling by the end of next week. Then a little sandblasting, a little body and seam filler, then some Tangerine Orange paint. Then some new glass and rubber, wheels and tires, Gawd, I just depressed myself. LOL

Well, the ladderbars, front bar, and coil over shocks are ready and waiting on a rear end. Can't do more until I get it though. Always welcome ideas.

She's slowly taking on the look of a gasser. Still have to make my own motor noises, not kewl, but it's a raspy fuel altered sound so ain't bad. LOL Got to have a Moon fuel tank for the front.

Man! Those stilts look dangerous. Please buy a set of jack-stands. I don't want to hear any jokes at your funeral about why they called you Jack. All it would take is someone to lean on a fender.

The back is on jack stands. The front stands are 4 x 4 an all is solid. The old gasser may do me in but it'll be down the track! LOL
