Hi, Just joined, and thought I'd say hello. I'm an old time rodder, but haven't built one for a few years. I was an autoelec but tossed the trade in when XA falcons were new on the block. Its interesting how much things have changed with all the fancy rules & regulations and even engineers involved nowadays. Thinking of building a extra-cab woody pickup when I find a suitable body to start with. Had a sighting of a 30 chev truck, but when I went to look it turned out to be a 48-53 commer. I wouldn't mind using a flathead hooked up to a 4 speed (overdrive) auto hilux gearbox. Though if I pick up a chev I might use a gm v6 as I have one of them as well as a 4 litre falcon with 4 speed auto hanging around and a bronco with a 351 clevo. Or maybe rip the top off the Bronco and put an A Model body on it and have a 4wd rod, that could be a very interesting project. I'll wait and see what turns up body wise.
Welcome, but I would read more of what goes on here, this is not Oz-rodders and doing 'rods' on bronco ch***is doesnt really fly. This is very much a 'traditional' hot rod forum, not your typical 'aussie' hot rod forum. have a good time, maybe this place will convert you.
Human Fly is right. Please spend a lot more time studying this site and what it's about (traditional early style hot rods and customs), so far you're off the mark I'm sorry. Welcome, hopefully you will see the light!
and we dont even know where your'e from. Australia is a fkn big place. Welcome , hope you enjoy yourself Rod
