Another new guy checking in from the beautiful suburbs of Morenci, AZ. I recently found a '29 Model A ch***is for sale for the princely sum of $200, and having always wanted to build an old school rod, I drove a couple of hours and procured it from its slumber. At some point in its past, this little ch***is had been rodded - badly. The idea is there, having been converted to hydraulic brakes, split wishbones and an F1 steering box. The craftsmanship however is roughly what I would expect from a teenager with about an hour and a half worth of practice. Being an **** retentive millwright, I can't abide by this sort of work on my whip, so the ch***is will be a pretty slow process. As it stands right now, my goal is to strip the frame back to bare rails, cut off the welding 101 practice and start fresh. Seeing as this is my first foray into the pre-war era, I will probably be asking tons of questions to make sure I get this done right. Thankfully, I live in an area where vintage parts are plentiful and decent bodies are just itching to be rescued from their usage as "art" and put back into circulation.
