Hey gang, My name is Jon and as you have probably already guessed, I am in fact new here. I freely admit that I am a Mopar guy, but that doesnt mean I hate on any other brands...I just prefer Mopar. I just recently picked up a really nice 1950 Chrysler Windsor sedan with the 250 flat six and the "prestomatic" semi-auto transmission. The body is arrow straight with no rust, the interior is in incredible condition, and it runs and drives just fine...my goal for this car is to hot rod it as though some 18 or 19 year old kid got ahold of it back in 1957...simple speed parts, multiple carbs, lake pipes, etc. I know the flat 6 wont be winning me any drag races, but I want to keep it in there because you just dont see a whole ton of them at cruise-ins or car shows....plus multiple carbs hangin off the side of it looks totally *****in. Well, I just wanted to introduce myself and say hello. If anyone has any recommendations or tips & tricks for these flatties I am all ears! Jon
Welcome to the group. My first car was a 1949 Dodge coupe with the hot six and fluid drive. Didn't win a lot of races with it but shaved and decked it and added remote doors after removing the handles. It was a fun car that rode really well.
Thanks for the nice welcomes!! Looking through some of the threads and pictures posted here it seems as though I have come to the right place...this forum is a vast wealth of knowledge and experience. As soon as I take delivery of the car early next week I will post some pictures, and as I progress through the build I will be posting more pictures. Jon
