I'm an old retired firefighter from St. Petersburg, Florida. Born in southern Ohio now live in the mountains of North Georgia. I grew up with the cars of the 50's and 60's. I worked for Roach Studios in the late 60's - late 70's pulling a trailer around the country to ISCA Car Shows and drag strips. I use to race my '67 Corvette at National Trail Raceway outside of Columbus but the NHRA National record holder in D/SP also raced there so I didn't win much. Love street rods but haven't had one for a long time. My last rod was a 1939 Ford coupe with a 1949 Ford flat head truck engine and a Columbia 2 speed rear end.
You won't be sorry moving to the mountains. Sadly there is a big influx of half backs moving to the area. I really shouldn't complain since I'm a half back myself but I'm not one that wants to change everything now that I'm here. I live 10 miles north of Blairsville and in 2000 you might see 3 cars driving into town. Now it's 30 or 40...I know it's still better than a big city but I liked it the way it was. Quite a few nice street rods in the area and one of the local clubs has a show on the square at Blairsville about once a month in nice weather. Now you know if you move here you will be required to quit rooting for LSU and support the Dawgs. ):
