I think your on the right track.......but something is still off. If you could get em to look like the old studebaker/buick etc. cast wheels of the early to mid 30's you would be right on the mark. Thats just my opinion though, ive always been partial to those types.....

A friend had a set like that on a 38 Packard years ago. They were a steel wheel but the spokes had wood attached to them. Looked like wagon wheels. Didn't like them then. I'm thinking maybe painted camouflage.

If I could have found an actual set of those Ronals when I had my VW camper van in highschool I would have painted each one a different color like the Deady bears... I coulnd't find any.

I like em! Maybe a skinnier/taller diameter? Dark blue or black on the rim and some kinda tan on the spokes? either way I like em!

  12. Yeah, thank GOD. But no doubt worth a shitload of money if you've got a set now. I actually saw some on a new Beetle in Santa Cruz once (go figure...).

Reminds me of old American 200S Daisy Spokes... timeless styling seen at swap meets.

I know a few goat ropers around here who would think that those were the hot lick:D The tire stores here locally seem to push ugly wheels off on people.

^This. I just brought home a 29 Nash and it just looks right with spokes but of course the original wood wheels aren't going to cut it on a rod. I'm a ways off from wheels but when the time comes these would be on my list. Just need to find someone to faux paint the spokes wood for me.

WheelKid, what ever happened to the production of this wheel? I like it as It reminds me of the General Jumbo wheel. I'd like to see it mounted up on a car.
