Hello, I was born and raised in OC. (Villa Park) I moved up to WA a few years ago. My wife and I sold our place in Anaheim Hills and hit the road. I am in a little town about 40 miles away from Seattle. (between Gig Harbor and Port Orchard) I love it here but I do miss the Kustom Kulture of OC. (I don't miss all the yuppies and a-holes though) I miss the Pomona swap meets!!! I have had lots of cars over the years. Built VW's in my early years. Since then I have not "built" much but have owned several. I have a thing for old cadillacs, just sold my 55. Now I have a 48 chevy coupe. It has a 350/350. I want to get back to building cars and bustin' knuckles and I thought this was a good start. I haven't met many old skool guys up here yet. I knew a bunch of old guys back in Cali that were a wealth of help, now I am on my own. I am not all that mechanical so I'll be needing some help! Hope you guys can answer questions when they come up. First on my list is to find some new metal for the front end of the 48. It was in an accident before I got it, I am going to try to teach myself some body skills and try to shoot it in flat black. (I don't know how to shoot paint yet either) Yep, I have a ton of questions coming! What else.... well I am in my mid-30's, just had my first child (a boy) and I am a real estate agent. That is about it.
Welcome to Washington. You might try the Monroe Swap Meet this Sat and Sun at the fairgrounds for that '48 sheetmetal.
Welcome. Be sure to check out the Monroe swap this weekend, and the Chehalis swap too (I'm not sure when that is though). ALso, we have a killer show up here in Tacoma called Hot Rod-A-Rama...put on by the Mischief Makers in Tacoma every year...it's a hell of a good time, and one of the better car shows nationwide....be sure to mark off August 3 and 4 for it!
