the steering column to frame support is overkill for sure...

Some cool details here, the left handed gear shift, criss-cross tie rod, oversized cowl vent and the quarter panel scoop for cooling the rear brakes. The plug wires look good, just snap them back on and fire it up. Might need a new fan belt though.

 

the tree stump was a nice touch.

 

their pretty proud of it at what their asking, but said it wouldn't hurt their feelings for a offer.

 

I must have gotten spoiled, lazy, tired over the years, hard for me to see anything but a pile.

But more proof bad welding is traditional.

That little car is actually not that terrible. If you can kind of unfold the door skin and quarter a bit you might be able to get away with regular quarter patches and door skins. I bet that is one of those cars that gets better the more you look at it rather than worse.
