Hi my name's Brett but those who really know me call me Stump (you figure that one out...) anyway got pointed in the H.A.M.B. direction by another car nut...I've lurked around for a little and hope I'll fit in (hey no Stump jokes!) I started hangin' around the local car circuit when I was 'bout 14 (that would be 1972) or so. I've owned a few cars that I wish I never sold - but hey most of them were post '70 anyway! Paid my bills for many years twisting wrenches got tired of that and went into the teaching game - I've been teaching High School Auto Shop going on 17 years now. From what I've read on the H.A.M.B. so far ...It looks like I've been pointed in the right direction - a place where real honest people tell it like it is. So I do have a question for you...the '32 in the attached pictures was offered to me for $3200.00 (That would be Canadian funny money) - I'd like some opinions, is it worth the money? What would you do with it?

Looking forward to learning from everyone and perhaps I'll be able to offer help as well...

    Thanks,
    Brett aka Stump

for that much it would already be in my shop....

    Welcome to the HAMB

  3. If you don't buy it, I'll hook up my trailer and head up there today...

You should buy and have your shop class work on it as a class project. Post progress pix and get those kids on the HAMB, too...

    Welcome to the HAMB...

:) Thanks for the welcome TehGerg & JunkyardDog...

...as for the '32 I'm still not sure  - I think I'll make an offer, bring it home and clean it up a little and see if I can turn it into that late '40s early '50s Buick/Olds that I really want:D .

    Cheers,

...Hi been a while - thought I'd give an update:

Ex-student really wanted the '32 - I didn't - he had no $ but there was a '57 BelAir Wagon (4dr) in his dad's shop that I always joked about them keeping in storage for me... So as I'm nearing his place to pick the '57 up -it comes flying out driveway:cool: ! Yep, I traded the '32 for a running '57 BelAir wagon - It's an original 283 4bbl 3spd, black and white car...needs it's share of floor and rocker repair but she's all there! My wife and 10-year-old daughter are looking forward to helping put this thing on the road for some family cruising...:)

    Cheers,
    Stump

Not sure who got the best deal here but as long as both of you are happy that's what counts. Good luck to both of you w/ your projects. Post up some pics as they progress.
