Three years ago I posted a thread about parting with one of my builds. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/bittersweet-farewell-to-an-old-friend.737098/ Yesterday I took a day trip and brought another of my "one of a kind" design creations back to Rochester where it was built. Our 37 Chevy KingCab designed Pickup Truck was a family affair that stared back in 1992. It took several years to build, provided many years of fun driving, moved into a second generation and given the name "Mater" by our Grandsons but was never really completely finished. Showing its age with a few new squeaks, faded primer, and still sporting the "hit and run" band aid it got many years ago after getting damaged in a Mall parking lot, it still rides pretty good. We even found a local cruise night on the way home last night where several friends were pleased to see the truck again. The deal to bring it back was made by our Son Tony and soon it will take another trip to Michigan where Tony and his Wife Ashley will give it a nice home and finish it the way they want. Glad it is back in the Family creating more fond memories.
That's a nice story. I would love to have my Dad's first hot rod he built when I was a kid. I have so many memories of rod runs and riding in the back seat. I see the car most summers at Back to the Fifties in St. Paul, but the current owner has had it for many years, and I wouldn't be able to afford it anyhow.
