well, i made an impulse buy, i had been watching this 3 window coupe on ebay last week and seen it wasnt going for much more than 10k, i had seen it on ebay a while back and remember that it had been rolled over a gaurd rail at some point and then someone got it and repaired it to a point and then thats where it ended up, i knew it was rough, but figured if i got it for 10, id be able to spend a little on it in brookville peices to repair it and still come out ok and have most of a real 3 window (even though thats not to big of a deal to me) and still be way under the 25k mark, it wont be as nice but still be very respectable, so it was a thursday night and it had about 3 hours to go, so i placed my 11k max bid and left the house, not wanting to watch, not wanting to up my bid, so i came home about 10 o'clock and went on the computer, damn, i bought it for 10,700 so i was happy, but thinking, oh great another project, and then i got it home, and was thinking oh great, another big project!! so thats how it goes.

Im going to start collected peices to build it, even though i have a pretty much already set up chassis for it, im going to change a few things, put a flathead in it and 35 wires, and probalby be primer black.

the main thing is that i need to get a brookville left hand side for the car, and am only going to use the roof and quarter panel, so if anyone is looking for a left cowl side ill probably sell the chunk from it.

and am also wondering if anyone near brookville would possibly pick up the quarter and cut it in a few smaller pieces and ship it to me so shipping isnt so killer.

im not sure what im gonna all use yet, are you talking just the a pillar from the cowl to the roof? the main inner A pillar doesnt come with the side of the body, mainly just the sheet metal.

did you nab the pics from the bay or did you use to own it?

I knew the car would be known on the hamb and was kinda embarrased at first about my purchase but the more look at it and the more i think about it im happy.

  6. SCORE! I love it. The condition of it right now reminds me of Two-Face hahaha but I know that'll change. Keeping it tall?

    Titus,
Great score ! I started a thread here on the HAMB looking for that car about 6 months ago but no luck. Then when it just came up on Ebay naturally it was the wrong time for me...typical. The pics of it on the chassis a few posts back are badass. I would leave it as is, it looks great with it's battle scars like it's got a story to tell ! Good luck with it and let me know if you ever want to pass it along.

That's how I got my cabriolet! Except I got outbid and at the last minute the guy retracted his bid and I won. It was right at the edge of what I was willing to pay too. Then I had to figure out how to pay for the damn thing! Hahaha! :D

Looks pretty tough as a high boy.

Man..I bet that little car has seen some action in it's day. She has what look like some well earned scars.

And, I think you got a smokin deal on a car with some real soul. Good luck with her.

I just got the body, no chassis with it, i dont think it will be as tall when i build it.

its been a hot rod for a long time too, lots of lead, im sure it was a 50/60's build then merged to a 70's build, never made it out of that stage till it got wrecked.

anyone else now of any history on the car?

heres a scan of a pic of it when it was smashed.

got it from a local guy named Gordy Peters, he also has a pair of cars that were great 8's at detroit in the last few years, he ended up with another 3 window and decided to sell this one.

and yes i did sell my roadster.

ill send you all the chunks i cut off of mine to help you out, it aint the best stuff but maybe with whats left of my left quarter and your left quarter you might be able to make a good one. and if i use the roof from the brookville one youll be welcome to my bent roof chunks too.

hard to believe that's the same car.

It does not look bad enough to need B'ville stuff, but I guess seeing it up close tells the story.

Maybe it's just me but I kinda dig the scars. Considering the before pics they're a bit of a badge of honor.

no kiddy, once they melted it down it would have weighed half of what it does at the moment, there is a ton of bondo in this*****er, the cowl vent is filled but all of it is still under there, so im gonna try and dig it out!

Congrats Jeff! Glad to see you're building another Deuce. For some reason I seem to think I read somewhere that the driver survived the crash.
