Thanks everyone! The car only has safety equipment to run tens. The fastest car in my class ran 8.88 today according to my wife.

I saw several that were running 8.50 - 8.51, looks like it will be a real shoot out at the end of the week
Was one car that got a 8.44, which puts him in a different class if he turned in the time slip. And he did not have the safety equipment to run that fast.
He did another pass and got 8.51 that he can turn in.
Going to be a fun week, see who's car is still alive and running at the end of the week

Enjoy and have fun, make it to the end!

Do they have a Yayhoo cup like at the HAMB Drags? I'd say you'd win! Still remember when you drove your 55 up a couple years ago, spanked her, and drove her home. If you have any problems heading home, we're just south of Des Moines and would be happy to help. My cell is 641-203-7454 if you need anything.

IMG_20170912_190958.jpg we're still in it...but there are two cars quicker than mine.. quite a bit quicker. We'll see how it goes

stop by and say Hi if youre at the track. But get there early.

Since Brian is out, not sure who we'll drive with tomorrow. It's usually a good idea to pair up with another car for the drives. Although we did fine today, on our own. (Brian's transmission quit maybe ten miles into the drive)

You sure know how to appeal to the masses...

I didn't realize that the Plan II lettering on the quarters was actually a blueprint. Any interesting details down there in the lower right corner? o_O

  14. jim and i did pair up for the week. we help each other as we go. when the mag was acting up on tuesday jim was there with his tools to help. after day two wrapped up my trans*****ped out. jim stuck around until every last thing was tried to get me back on the road. the time he spent with me means lost sleep for him. jim is a good guy and a class act. truly the real deal.

No doubt but they lack something...I guess its a mindset in a way. I always like a slogan on a beer company this way Proudly 100 years behind the times. I think around here its a little this way but Guys like yourself are always pushing the vintage envelope and keeping things interesting and competitive.

It's not like you haven't done this before, is it? (grin) I hope you have a spare blower belt that doesn't get used for a long time. Did you seal the engine this time? Is it possible to get a squirrel shirt so I can remember who I am? Best of luck, Jim, you are truly a H.A.M.B. hero!

  26. Somebody needs to make up some Squirrel racing shirts! Please don't forget us fat kids when it comes to sizes! Best of luck to you Jim! Your trip and posts make me remember all the fun I had racing and I only had a 12.00 car!
