Is it worth trying import a car from Cuba if this comes true. Probably most cars are having life support with parts from Russian cars. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-15710861
The majority of those cars are worn out 4doors with home made and russian parts not wort the price of shipping and if you see the movies with the cars a couple of times you se the same cars so i dont think that there is so many cars to chose from
I could be wrong but a few years ago Castro declared all the old cars in Cuba as national treasures. Never to leave the island.
I've been there and seen and riden in them. Most are junk, however there are some real nice examples obviously owned by influentual people of means. Speaking to cubans with cars their expectation of how much they are worth is a bit over the top. Even with local trading on the island it seems some of these cars can fetch a pretty penny since mostly that is all there is. About shipping them out, I'd suggest it would be a big risk, since you would never be sure that Government would let it out even though you may have considered that you purchased it from the owner...
