Another Weesner Inspired Hot Rod (Lit Up)

I dont think WOW truely covers what has been achieved so far. But WOW.

His shop is like a Science Lab, exactly as it should be. The old advertising signs for all walls are fantastic, and the Green Rod in the back ground is another highlight, any more pics?
To just decide to build a better suited chassis is great and to have state of the art equipment is magic.

The Results will be Priceless !!

Very impressive. It takes a lot of artistic vision to be able to do that kind of work.

At the start of the Emerald Tide thread you said Jimmy was working on a
handbuilt hotrod that was taking to long to finish.

Interesting to see that despite radically (but tastefully) changing the chassis so much he still retained the front beam axle (although looks like it's dropped waaaaaaay deep...).

Unfortunely he hasn't finished that car yet but you can bet your sweet bippy he will. I'll have to post up some pics of the chassis. You talk about slick. I don't know if you can see it or not but it's under the rack that has the firebird on it. Rick

Jimmy wants to retain the look of the truck as much as possible. Some times it's hard to make a car or truck look and sit like the artist draws it and still function properly. Jimmy decided this was the best way to lower the truck and still retain the ride because this truck will be driven. It's a shame the frame will be covered up because it's a thing of beauty. Rick

What are those rings in the water of the lake from? Thats where I dumped my body tools after I saw this thread. What a priviledge to see a master craftsperson creating such fab stuff. The profile on that cab is sweet. Thanx for sharing this major talented builders work with us. Amazing ~sololobo~

 

That frame is a work of art, this is going to be a great build to follow.

Stayed at the same hotel as Jimmy & his family during the Nationals,had the opportunity to talk to them at breakfast an around the hotel great folks an super talented person.

 

Seriously good work. He makes it look so simple.

 

Damn I wish I had half his talent. Truly a gifted person.

Boy that's some talented builder. I do my own chops--one anyway, and similar hot rod trucks in my tiny shop at home with some tools but a minimum I think. People like my work--amateur stuff-and I drive and keep my few builds, and I really enjoy seeing somebody do it all so correctly. I do the best I can and it ends up looking OK to most, but I'd have to have some super training to operate an English Wheel or half the cool tools he has. I don't have those kinds of tools and don't want them, because I'm not that great a craftsman. This guy succeeds in a really clean build at each bend in the road and makes something difficult look doable. I think its doable for him and the master builders and appreciate how talented Jimmy is. Great job Jimmy

Since you're an Art Whore Coby and the Emerald Tide IS art you should buy it to add to the collection. Do you have enough wall space for it?

I'm sure this will be just as detailed as the Tide!! It is awesome to see in person. I can't wait to see this one!! I think it is quite a honor to have someone build something from an artist, let a lone twice. What a great combo, great artist and builder.
