I think it's kinda neat - in an ugly sort of way. The front of the car needs to be a bit longer tho. The engine is pretty unique too...
[ QUOTE ] So far it has 16 bids. There sure are alot of people with bad taste. [/ QUOTE ] wow I saw this a few days ago and am suprised no one has recognized this as one of the coolest altered body styles of the 60s guess I just have bad taste though
It's no worse than this 32 Ford...... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6057&item=4515646933&rd=1
Man, I don't know why so many guys feel the need to bag on other peoples creations. The second one is a trad roadster from way back in the 50's bro. That's Toody Fortin's car as shown in "Cool Cars Square Roll Bars". Sure it's fallen on some hard times lately, but that was a cutting edge New England car in it's prime. But hey, beauty is only skin deep. Some day my POS hotrod will be up for sale, and I am sure there will be a bunch of jerks baggin on it behind my back, but I won't care. Because I would have had a blast building it and driving it before I was dead and buried.
Well said Nosurf. I didn't post this so everybody could ***** about it. I like it and would love to have that 'one off' engine and the car any day.
Jay, Thanks for the info on the Fortin car! As soon as I saw that grill I knew it was a signature piece from a photo I'd seen somewhere, you saved me 2-3 hours of thumbing through my files and magazines. I swiped a photo from AB's book of the car in its early life as a New England Rod, had a GMC six in it. I sincerely hope this car is bought and restored to how it was. It is a part of Hot Rod history, and deserves to be remembered.
guess this is one reason y people stereo type the east coast i know its trad, but not everything trad is goodlookin

I think that first car would look pretty durn good with some channeling-- body lowered down over the frame rails. Then a So-Cal stile paint job of some sort (not a copy of SoCal's though). The grille needs to be at the front of the front tires, too. IMHO. Neat unique idea on this car.

Pure Hell is a cool altered but the only thing it has in common with this thing is the body.
I think it's great!!!! Just picture it with the front sheet metal and fenders..........ummmmm? Then again I still listen to T-Rex
Thats the stock configuration for a Bantam...plus the hybrid engine! Hydraulic brakes too! Be cool all ***embled...keeping in mind it will never be a full sized or proportioned car. I wonder how the crank was setup to run with 8 pistons instead of 4? Interconnected rods maybe?
Man there are two on my list of must own before I die, a Bantam and a Topolino. You can buy the Bantam bodies pretty cheap in gl*** but an original would be the stuff. Always wanted to build a streetable AA/FA. Don't think I could go that high though. Anyone got one of those ugly ducklings in the way and collecting dust?

Great link! I bought an Bantam coupe body from that guy in Allentown years ago, GREAT guy to deal with. I put it in a package deal with a Lyndwood rail ch***is, often wonder if it got built.
