    Depends if you love it.

Could be a fun bang around car (pitted chrome, flat paint, donor interior from newer car)

If you want a nicely painted finished original style car, the bumpers and chrome will be a huge expense, not much to work with from the pics

Rust repair - look very closely. If you're talking both rockers, fix 4 door bottoms, 2 fender bottoms and 2 quarter bottoms. Find a different car.

Just food for thought, pay 3,500 now and have a project that needs to be built or maybe 10,000 or less for a running driving coupe w/t a chevy V8 & transmission, nice paint and beautiful chrome that only need your name on the ***le. HRP

Under the hood needs some TLC but other than that this car is ready to enjoy. HRP

The one above seems to have too wide of a front track width, unless it's just oddly offset wheels, but I wonder if it's clipped wrong? Could be. Otherwise seems like a pretty good deal.

But if you only have $3000 to spend, it doesn't really matter how good of a deal a $10K car is. Or if you're buying a project because you enjoy building projects, then the "savings" doesn't really matter, either.

I agree, will cost more in the long run, but it’s easier on the wallet to “pay as you go” so to speak.

The FB coupe looks like a pretty nice car but, looking at the wheelbase and the location of the tires in the wheel wells, has this thing been put on an S-10 ch***is. Rear tires look too close to the front of the rear wheel well and fronts look too far back. Might be just an optical illusion but I don't think so.

    ". . . seems to have too wide of a front track width . . ."

That's 'cause it's set up for Bonneville. Better aero that way. Goes with the snap-on Moon style discs.

I agree, something is wrong about that car that isn't stated in the listing. There's a reason it's as cheap as it is.

The one that Moriarity posted from the Me*** auction, now that one seems like a real bargain.

Ad states it has power steering...very likely a frame swap or clip.

Well, here's a comp for you. I'm at the Portland Swap Meet right now, and this is down the aisle from me with an ask of $2200:

$2200, 2 door, the chrome looks like it will polish to something presentable if it's not bent. I consider the 351 swap a good thing. There's some rust bubbling but it looks like steel under the primer and hasn't been caked with filler, see if it checks out with a magnet.

  17. And I bet one could walk away with that for $1800... wish I was closer would look at it.

window sez 351 so upgraded engine/trans as one may say.

THe car I was looking at had a few good points, Unmolested/original and complete.
And the "supposed" to be rebuilt 8BA.

@$3500 I am going to p***. I was thinking TOPS would have been $1500 myself...

If you like that 4 door, set a price in your head and stop by occasionally. Don't run the car down, just stop by and talk, let him know you want to fix it, not part it out. See if they'll move off the 1500.

Much of the price depends on the extent of the bodywork rhat needed. Make a decision if you can live with ratty chrome. Citric acid bath will clean up what chrome is still there, but it'll have a lot of rough areas.
The car need some of... everything.

I've bought a few cars that took years to agree to a sale :D

Can you find a buyer that will pay you $200.- $500. over what you have to pay for it, without moving it?

What's it worth...? I'm not feeling flush for cash right now, got no parking, and the odds of me actually doing something with it are pretty slim. That behind me, if he told me $350 I'd gamble and scramble for parking.
If I need a drive train...wanted to sell left over parts, well he's freshly squeezing $1200- $1500 from my orange. $3500... That's going to require me flush with cash, that drive train is proven to run, and he's holding fast to the notion he has me in a barrel and I still want to prove mines bigger. The auction one was the deal to have won, hands down.
