Hot Rods another whats it worth thread

A friend of mine has a Ford 312 short block. Another friend wants to buy it. I don't think it is anything exotic like an f code or anything. What would be a fair price for both for a rebuildable stock 312?

 

$200.00 - $350.00

All 312s are a crap shoot due to possible rear main webbing cracks,core shift and more.

I would stay on the lower end of that figure if possible.

You just dont know about the condition of those blocks until after a machine shop gets involved. And yes I have been thru a shitload of 312s.

There are some T-bird specific ones that have a special damper on them, they are desirable to T-bird restorers and get more money. Otherwise, I agree with above.
