Another whatsitworth? thread...55-64 4.11 posi center section

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by alteredpilot, May 19, 2006.

  1. my boss has a complete unassembled 4.11 posi center section in a box on the bench...needs shims. he said...make me an offer...but i have no idea.

he said if it was complete and together (just the center section) he'd ask for $700...is that way out or am i way off??

he just sold a 3.55 posi unit complete drum to drum for $750

    help.

i'd like to have it for my wife's HA/GR project.

  2. I think that is way high, but if he can find a buyer at that price?????

For your HA/GR, why not go cheap and weld the spiders? A locked rear is what you want anyway?

Posi...eh?? I put a locker in my 8" Ford...Which was free!! Locked up, w/ all new drum breaks for $350.

$700?? I don't think so. Tell him to hit Egay.

  4. thanks, but can anyone give me an idea what a reasonable offer would be?

i'm thinking around 350, but i dont want to insult the guy...
he's given me more junk than i can recall and been really cool about me doing stuff on the clock....

let me put it another way...

if it were YOU what would YOU want for it?

    thanks

I have seen them priced at 500, and sold at 400. If it needs parts to work, 300. sounds fair. I wouldn't mind having it :D

Have seen them go for anywhere from 500-750 on Ebay for 411 posi.

A 4:11 posi is the most sought after and get $500 to 800 together. My dad sold one last year for $650... I would love to have it now as I plan to put a 55-64 rear under my wagon.... The hard part is finding someone who can set it up right (expect to spend some big money.... it is around here)

I would give $300 for it assuming it all there and in good shape

  9. I would not want one for an HA/GR...

Buy a 9"... buy a mini-spool... and forget about it.

    Sam.
