I understand your original question regarding value comparison of the two wheels. Even though it didn't go through, have you thought about drilling the 4.5 pattern in the Ansen mags? One of your replies indicated that you liked the wheels you have. I have had this done on a set and it worked fine. I have the data for different size patterns if you are interested. Sure do like your Falcon with the gasser look. Ron

Really don't want to redrill the Ansens, as I think it will ruin them, and not fond of mixing the slots in back with my spokes up front. I think I'll just get some steelies or chromies to mount the slicks in the rear for a few passes down the strip each year.

  3. That's the ticket. Look at old pictures, lots of guys did that on their street/strip cars.

i see the trade is OUT / over....

yours worth afew hun more than his..
but he has some (UN-drag tire) [[non- DRILLED]] 15 x 10's they can be worth a good amount, Cragar Super Trick s in 15x10's are not up for sale often, usually 15x 12's and wider.

15x8's fit more streetapplications but the CST Cragar Super Trick WASNT built for the street anaway.

HRP said drill your axels (what 40bucks) and

    I'd keep the ANSENS...

Two ways 1 drill the needed pattern into the Ansens 2 enlongate the current holes to make dual pattern uni-lug style. Easy peasy to do with a mill do it all the time for people.

  6. You never mentioned in your original post that re drilling was out of the question,,and that 2 more people that can't read comment was taken as a personal insult,,implying that we are ether illiterate or ignorant,,sorry, but it rubbed me wrong.

As for value,,the center lines are worth scrap value in my opinion,,I hope this reply is more along the lines of what you are looking for. HRP

I don't care what you do with the Cragers, plant flowers in them if you want. All I was agreeing with is trading Ansens for them is not a good trade. Trade something else for them if you want...like what ever you are growing flowers in now.

Keep the Ansens and have them redrilled to the pattern you need.

The Cragars already have a dual pattern in them, so you know it can be done.

I know I can do it, but I'm in MO.

If you can't find a machinist closer who will tackle it, send me a PM.

    EDIT:

Nevermind, missed the part about you not wanting to touch the Ansens.

15"x10" with a five on 4.5" pattern is a pretty standard wheel size for oval racing, where steel wheels still reign supreme. Prolly want to buy some racing lug nuts for them though, as most aftermarket wheels have a 45° lug seat (they're all lug centric) instead of the 60° seats that the OEMs used (hub centric).

Anyway, that's another option if you have trouble finding what you want through hot rod channels.

If it were me, I would sell those 4.75 Chevy pattern Ansens, & get a pair of 4.5's in the same condition & size. Lots of 'em online. I would not put those Cragar c/l type wheels on your car. Non-unilug 4.75 slots are an easy sell

  11. Those Supertricks are just as valuable to a guy that is recreating a 70's style drag car. I have several pairs of slots (no 4.5 pattern) and wouldn't see a problem trading straight across. You see way more slots than those supertricks

Well I'm glad I didn't do the trade. I was at the local swap meet today and picked up a pair of Centerline 10"x15" wheels, with Interceptor 295-50-15 new tires on them for $50! I'll pull the tires and use them on the back of my '69 Burb, as it's the same size. I'll mount up my spare slicks on the Centerlines for the drags, and keep my Hurst slicks and spokes for the street.
