I've come to the conclusion, after spending most of my garage time picking things up off the floor, crawling under the car, dropping stuff on my head, etc., that what I really need is an anti-gravity environment to wrench in. Just think of it, tools lazily floating around in mid-air... Drop a 3/8" nut? No problem, there's one at arms reach. No more dropped and broken parts, chipped paint. Anyone have one?

I suppose it might have it's downside. Maybe moon gravity would be better. Everything the weight of styrofoam.

Sorry, just taking a break while my pictures load.

    wow, you're a genius !!!
yes, and EVERY TIME I drop something... anything, it will roll either all the way under the workbench, or, exactly the the center of the car I'm working on.. it's a fact, I measured it.. sign me up for an anti-gravity shop, and also a time machine please !!!

My dad always claimed that an extra hand would be "handy". I can see his point because I still haven't figured out how to hold stuff up and turn the tool at the same time.

  5. Just think of how many times you'd get up and conk yerself on that 4lb mallet that floated around and settled right above you...

I was piddling with a distributor just now...dropped an 8-32 nut, it landed under the center of the transmission. I love having a "high" car, I just reached under and picked it up.

At least you're finding your parts. Mine fall and are mysteriously transported to an alternate universe. They sure as hell aren't still in this one 'cause I sure can't find them. Maybe I need a magnetized floor.

Yeah but think about an engine swap. Go over, pick it up with one arm, set it in place, slide the bolts in...

Had a 3/8 drive impact go invisible for a few minutes this afternoon. I looked every place but the ceiling. Musta been an anti-gravity moment. I found it on the floor right where I left it, a little later. Crazy ain't it?

As long as one of you want to come over pour oil and anti-freeze for me.

Would an anti gravity hot rod still float in an anti gravity environment, or would they cancel each other out?

I think Moon gravity would be about right, keep stuff from floating away. I would weigh 30lbs. I could wrench all night at that weight. Muncie 4 speed, 14 lbs.

I'm going to get started tomorrow. I called Kate, she has some experience. She's coming over.
