The way I understand things, the fender ticket and the inspection are two separate issues. Sometime during all of this, "Dodgeville Brad" decided to apply for the Wisconsin one time license plate fee plates, (I forget which exact category of plate), which triggered the WSP inspection. This inspection is to determine the eligibility with regards to the title classification.
Also the Little Red Express truck stock exhaust pipes ticket was also dropped in Dodgeville!

If anyone or anyone you know in Wisconsin is getting a WSP inspection to title their modified car, let the H.A.M.B. know how it goes/went. The inspector should give you a copy of the DOT inspection paperwork......let us know if they didn't!
    -Thanks

Any new info on the results of the court trial on this issue? The trial was supposed to be on June 13.

    and then

BUT Brad must have Wisconsin State Patrol inspect the 32. Brad’s 32 can’t be driven until it passes the WSP inspection. It’s not over yet!

Brad's 32 Ford has been inspected by Wisconsin State Patrol. The WSP Inspector will meet with the WSP staff and will advise Brad of the results of the inspection and if the vehicle can go back on the road.

    It's not over yet.

We are waiting for the results of the WSP inspection.

Curt, how long has Brad's 1932 been "off the road" because of this situation?

So, basically he is guilty and unable to use his car until they get around to figuring out that they were misinterpreting the law, or finding the time to let him know that they didn't like something. Will he receive some DOT paperwork listing what they don't think is right with his car? Is there legal recourse if Brad disagrees with what they are complaining about.

  7. Brad has not driven the 32 since October, 2018 when he received the "fix it" tickets. At that time, it was strongly suggested by the Wisconsin State Patrol officer for Brad not to drive the 32 anymore. Brad felt WSP would continue giving him tickets.

On May 17, 2019 the district attorney dismissed the tickets and cautioned Brad not to operate the 32 on the road until the 32 passes a WSP inspection.

For the 32 to be officially "off the road" WISDMV would have to suspend the registration on the 32.

I will expect WISDMV will send Brad some paperwork if the 32 fails inspection and his registration is suspended. What WISDMV sends him only they know.

If there is legal recourse is a question for an attorney.

They can charge you with anything, and its up to you to hire a lawyer to have the charges dismissed. The judge will Never give you court costs even if the charges are dismissed. It's the legal system for the rich.

I wish we would hear an answer on this . A friend of mine finished his 36 Chevy pickup this winter, basicly a T bucket chassis with a 36 cab and shorty box. Now he is afraid to drive it! It has vanity plates he transferred from his last car. It has huge rear tires and narrow fronts. The only fenders you could use on it would be motorcycle style and the rears would be 18 to 20 inches wide! If Brad gets an approval it would finally set a president to the statures and a guy would not have to worry. Larry
