I used to go when they had an antique machinery festival in the fall. That area of CT is my favorite! Kent is located about 15 minutes from the NY border and about 30 minutes south of the Mass border. It's right off RT 7. Nice pictures, thanks for posting:D

I love this old stuff, thanks for posting.

I know where I can get my hands on a horse drawn mechine used to pave roads with. Its old and all there, been at an old farm for close to 80 years or more, but not to sure what to do w/it.

Thanks for the pics Slim! That's my kind of place. I'm going to check it out this weekend on the way to Limerock. It's great your kids are into all this old stuff. Probably 'cause you drag them along, that's what happened to me. :D

Labor day weekend at Limerock is the best. Went there for years. This year at the Vintage Festival will be the Auto Union car from the 30s. Very rare. Enjoy.

  15. This is a Monarch Corliss single cylinder steam engine in Bastrop, TX, that was used in the cotton industry in a city east of there around the turn of the last century as I recall the story. It is mounted onto an old truck trailer chassis for transport. Owed by a auto repair shop / car collector. Yes, he runs it at least once a year and you can hear AND FEEL it all around town!

the Kent show is Sept 25, 26, 27 this year.
    Well worth the ride.

lots of old engines running, some old cars, swap meet, great for the whole family. they fire up all the steam engines.
