Finally picked up my new project truck today, a '54 F-100. It's def a project, needs a decent amount of work, like cab corners and misc patching, but overall it's not that bad. The frame is in awesome shape, and the interior is pretty clean and solid The hood, fenders, grill and running boards were included, the only thing missing was the bed. I think I'm going to make a wood flatbed anyway, sort of like a smaller sized rack body bed or something. Truck will most likely be a satin/primer black when it's done. I've got a 351 Windsor to put it in as well. I'm going to be doing this on the cheap, because I'm getting married next year and will catch all kinds of hell from the future Mrs. if I get too caried away. Couple of cell phone pics after I got her in the shop...yes, the white wagon wheels have to go i hate that style wheel I'll get some better pics tomorrow...
I really like 53-55 F-100's. You've got a long way to go but that's half the Fun. If the Wife to be is already dictating what you can and can't do for a Hobby, your headed for trouble. Being a Gray Beard and on my 4th wife I can tell you Hot Rods are cheeper than a Divorce. If you were my Son I'd advise you to Keep the Truck and cancel the date at the Alter. The Wizzard
Haha, nah, I've been with her for 12 years now, and she's always put up with my projects in the past, plus she's hot, so I'm keepin her
