any 50 mercury chop top pictures?

    matt, have any pics of this process? sounds painfully slow and labor intensive. i like it. this is an area that i still have to cover on my car.

    shaping it isn t too bad... i usually rip it down with my disc sander and then do some final shaping with the file. then comes the fun part of bending. i usually make a template of the window opening out of wood and bend the br*** around the template with heat. it gets alittle easier each time but it still takes some time. here is a couple of pics, sorry for the fuzzyness, my batteries were dying. if i work on it tomorrow ill try and take some pics.

    i still have to do the p***enger side on the shoe box real soon, i will take a bunch of pics and attempt to do a tech for you all. i might try and do some out of aluminum too in the future just to experiment.

    here are the shots of mine. 3" front, about 4 1/4" rear. the rear window moved forward about 3 inches.

    That has to be the most logical way to do the leaned b pillars!!! A few cuts, everything lines up...beautiful! I love it! I think Im going to try that next time (my 51 Merc)

    Thanks for the compliments. If I were to do it again, I would lean the b pillars just a bit different. The main pieces I would cut the same. But I would cutout and use the original rounded corner pieces the way Slddnmat did on Fernando's. That was pretty tricky.
