Hey guys. Did a valve job on my wifes 56 olds. The shop that I took the heads to took some studs out of the heads that the exhaust manifold bolts on. Well....where do they go? Looks like there is two on the p*** side of the car the lower two closest to the fire wall... Any where else???

Are you sure the studs you speak of aren't mistaken for the ones that go on the intake side in the middle with the big fat washer that clamps down. If you insist there are studs on the exhaust side, my guess would be the ends - isn't the exhaust manifold bolt holes slotted on the ends so the bolt slips in. Regardless, bolts will work just fine.

I searched through the pictures from my rebuild, and it looks like the studs go on the two outside ports. the center ones need to be longer anyways, so you shouldn't be able to use them.

Mr. K. This is the section where you introduce yourself. If you have questions you should post on the main page before the Hamb police find this.
