Here's one my Uncle shot of the Landy Dodge. Sorry it isn't a better picture. I have good shots of some other makes of A/FX cars and dragsters he took at Irwindale in 65. We found them when cleaning out his garage, after he passed away.

Heres a 65 plymouth AFX I owned back in around 1973. I scanned this picture from an old scrapbook of mine. Thats my little brother in the picture he is 40 years old now. I think I paid around $500 for it without motor or trans. I had a 70 super bee with a 426 and was thinking about putting the 426 in this car. It never happened. I ended up trading the AFX for a 40 tudor that needed resto. In looking back one of my worst trades ever.

My favorite thing to show my pals was how I could stand in the engine compartment of the 65 and lift the K member to my waist. The car was in excellent condition and must still be around somewhere. Sellers remorse gets especially bad when I read threads such as this one. Steve

  6. Probably my all time favorite cars since I was a kid, I had pictures of them galore in the early 70's on my bedroom wall.

The "Jayhawker" is actually a 63 model...been around for a long time...I had a hand in building it way back when. Currently just finished a 65 Dodge AWB car for Clay Kossuth in Missouri and have another 65 Dodge AWB car in progress for another customer in Missouri..........

The white Plymouth is the car that was in Mopar Muscle magazine with Greg Fernault's car. Sorry if I spelled that wrong Greg.

Drag Racing innovations were moving so fast in that time period. The altered wheelbase phase of the sport was in fact pretty short, at least where the factory backed teams are concerned. To answer your question No Ive never seen any cars as late as 68 with the wheelbase altered, as by that time they had already moved on to the next phase of Funny Cars.

Here's the sister car to Steve's Rampage Dart:
    http://public.fotki.com/teddisnoke/bmw-2002/002.html

We built Steve's car, then followed up with this one with the intention of match racing the cars, taking the show on the road so to speak some other cars as well. Thats how "The FunnyCar Farm" got started.

Here's some more of both Dart's builds:

For people who have "created" these cars from scratch, like Mr. Rich,Steve, myself, and alot of you guys, you know its alot of cuttin, weldin, and grindin! But the final result can be summed up in one word: ******IN!!!

Doin' OK Mr.Rich. Its cool seeing you branching out from the Mopars. I can't wait to see the finished products!! I flew out to LA and spent a couple days working on a project with Magnante.(check out the new Muscle Car Review, Lightweight Galaxie article) I heard a few stories about you guys terrorizing LA in your AWB cars !!!:D Keep up the good work....

Hey Troublemaker. Yeah I jumped ship by building Chevys. I'll put up photos this week. Did anyone get photos of the Mopar drags at Pacific raceways this weekend? Cecil Yother was driving my Black A/FX Bel 1. I let him drive it, I went to see the Melvins.

Mr.Rich a couple of your old builds are running with us here on the eastcoast in NSS. The red "Performance King" car and the white Householder car. Both cars look great and run strong.

I'd like to see a photo of Cecil running your car. Good to see him back in an AWB car!!:D

Yeah that black car was a handfull at first. I took the front end completely apart and figured out what was puttin me into the wall. Then it drove straight as an arrow. Cecil pulled some serious wheelies. He's 70 and he just doesn't give a*****. That was a fun day.
