I know it's a little off the normal topic for the forum, but,..... I just bought a 1948 Gibson Garden Tractor, Model "D". Complete and running with a 12 HP Wisconsin engine. Has a plow and rear hitch, 3 speed trans with reverse, and is steered with a lever or the individual rear brakes. I wanted it for yard art, but since it runs, who knows. I also have my eye on an old windmill tower. So, anybody have any tractor experience? The tractor came from a 90 year old fella that owns a 16 space trailer park; it's for sale at 1.2 million if anyone wants to become a slum lord. Butch/56sedandelivery.

OOPS!!! The thread starter was supposed to say, "Any antique TRACTOR people here"?

My other hobby/obsession is hit/miss engines (have about 30 of them). Check out www.smokstak.com. LOTS of like minded engine folks there. There's a TON of information on old tractor on the web.

When my wife's G-Dad p***ed away, we picked up his 1947 Farmall Cub that had always been kept in the barn. A nice original little tractor. We kept it for a couple years but was too big for my place. I gave it to my friend and it now lives on a real working farm. We can borrow / visit it when we want and I don't have to do the maintenance.

That Farmall Cub rocks, used to drive one on my buddies farm as a kid, a big thrill!! They had an open giant *** rip saw mounted on a model A, with a belt drive off a rear wheel, dangerous as hell!! They would load up a wagon of cut wood and my pal and I would drive it up to the house and unload it!! Heated a big two story house with wood with a gravity furnace, had a big metal grate in the floor that the heat came thru, would be hotter than BadBobs merc and would go upstairs with smaller open grates in upstairs floor. The good old days?? ~Sololobo~

I have about 6 International Cub Cadet Garden tractors that I run around our place. each one has a different attachment thus a different job. The 122 with the kwikway frontloader is a godsend & my 129 with brinley plow takes care of the garden plowing effortlessly. I use a 72 to cur my gr*** & my 61 Original plows the snow. It's alot of fun.
