Here's an idea --- My 58 Edsel Wagon with airbrushed SQUIRE-ism. The former owner was going to do the sides too. If I could find another decent tailgate I'd switch this off and hang onto it, Cause I'm doing the car Colonial white with metallic green 2 tone...one of these days...

[IMG]Just like some one mention on an earlier post the edsel has a trim that runs through the lower section, so you would have to fill in that section.

  5. if you look on the first pic it looks like that lower piece is separate.

EDIT: i'm too slow at typing :)

    cool thanks fernando

  7. okay
has anyone actually put the bermudaa trim on a ford?

  8. I've seen several conversions. If you do the dash also, you have it 100%. If you don't, you're missing out. The black one from Oklahoma was the first one I saw with the dash. It makes the rest of the car. That's a great project. I fall in love every time I see one.

The Dash just bolts in and out so that part is easy, but if you use the dash from a 1958 Edsel you might want to keep the dash wiring also as the switch's are 1958 Edsel only and not very friendly to new wiring harness's (I still don't have the H/L switch working with the Edsel one). I would also try and incorporate the Ford heater switch's and the Edsel set up is a REAL PAIN (I tossed mine and installed a 1970 Ford F250 heat and switch's).
This well be a very COOL RIDE when your done, Good luck. If you have any Edsel question's Pm me also join the HAMB Edsel group.

  11. THANKS for all the info and pictures they are great help.
well i am still gathering more parts and information...
seems that the bermuda optioned wagon was a low production number 779?

seems a ashame to cut it all up maybe someone here wants some of those other specific wagon side trim parts .
someBERMUDA stuff on e--y went for cheap over the weekend?
    .
my ranchero is white with all the chrome/gold side trim in really good shape ...so i do not think the wagon/woody trim will will be used... maybe if they do not interfere with each other..it fits mostly along the lower portion
i will need to do some measuring ????

i have a new lead on a 57 ranchero, another 58 wagon and a 58 fourdoor that has a good front clip.....

its gonna be snowing here soon so timing will be the key...

the dash dunno i have not compared them that closely

my car is a manual so i won't need the steering column although adding the wheel /push ****on any way may be neat
i have worked on a few fords and have some MACGIVERISH success with the htr controls ..
57-58 tbird .. and pickups. and if need be cutting-modifying the edsel unit .... so be it

thanks again and will post pictures soon i hope

  12. i have looked hard at your pictures and that bumper is way different than the one on my car maybe mine was replaced some time ago .. my car was last driven in 65 so finding parts even then was hard i guess..
check with me later about the tail gate it mine ain't to pretty ...

Can't tell from your pics, but the plate bracket laying on the bumper is 57/58 Ford wagon and ranchero. The edsel wagon bumpers may be the same. The "bullhorn" bumper guard is a 58 edsel wagon only item. The edsel heater control is the craziest item: it makes the simple functions SO COMPLICATED !!! It was all missing when I got my wagon, but I've got it all now and working! It's a disc with seven cables and an electric motor. One cable connects to the dash control and opens/closes vents, adjusts temp, and heater/defroster. Wild stuff.....

I was very tempted to buy that car. I was on CL for a long time and then I saw it at the Decatur swap meet. Looked to be a pretty good deal.
