There is a Crosley body style like this in Beaumont CA, which runs a 60HP Ford flathead that apparently has big time drag racing history. Just sitting in a guys yard. He says he is going to get back into its original drag racing shape. I dont have any pic's I wished I had got a couple of pic's when I saw it. I dont think it will happen some how.
we have a shelvador, think its about a 1957 model, its our daily in the kitchen too, it doesnt just sit in the shed like most old shelvadors ive seen, i am chasing a dairy bar door for it if anyone is wrecking one.
I don't know if people are aware of the Crosley history but they were an appliance company.I use to have one of their refrigerators. Anyway, the cars were made narrow so they could be driven through the front door of an department store!
Neat, light little cars. The early four cylinders were brazed stampings and castings, replaced in later years by a cast iron engine. I bet they'd be a lot of fun around town, maybe not so much on the highway. Braje was the name in speed equipment for these.
Hello Ms Satan: Not to be nosey, what are you going to use it in????I have several Crosleys and parts thereof..I sent a very good steering gear to Big Daddy Garlits for use in his dragster....P M me.....
There is a guy near me that is into crosleys. The last time I was at his garage he had a crosley power rail. It was a pretty neat car. I'm not sure it he is a member here but he is a member of Wheels of Times and I know there are some of them here that may have a picture of it.
There are a few around, in the $1500 and up range. The guys on RRT have started a Crosley Coupe as a group project.
A Hot Shot or SS would be a blast with a Homelite 55 incher with a blower and an RX7 5 speed trans. Factory discs, minilites for a Spridget or Vega/Monza, (same bolt patterns) and no flat black in sight would be great vintage sports car stuff that could be driven daily and even knock down some good MPG numbers.
Had the car for about 9 years. I traded it for '32 Chevy 4 door sedan roller. It didn't look like that when I got it. Patched the rockers and straightened it bit and of course painted it. Wife did seat covers in surf board motif. Looking for surf board to put on roof. Fun little car--comes out about once a year at our local car show that my wife and I put on...chris
Not sure, I believe this guy came from southern CA not far from where the car is now. I believe he gave some of the big boys a run for their money with this little V8 60. He used to run without a starter motor to keep weight down and eventually he was sanctioned on that. I only have hear say info on it.
Hey Dino! Thanks for showing these guys what a Crosley should look like! These new guys slam everything, and Crosley's don't look right draggin' the ground like they're trying to be '49 merc's! Little Giant is the qunitesential Crosley race car.
Boldventure -- I had a similar formula car to that, with Topolino trans and RE. I ditched the combo when I found funny pieces in the tranny and I found out that a hot 3-cylinder SAAB 840 had twice the power. It had the spot disc brakes off a Hotshot, too.
The one in my photos was at Monterey last Aug. Nicely turned out, sounded really strong for such a tiny engine.
From 1961 at Island Dragway in NJ, the Lambret & Whitney dragin' wagon. Looks like the pits were a little dusty that particular Sunday. The stock Woody Panel just popped up on Racing Junk out in Arizona. I'm not sure if I've ever seen one with a single refrigerator style door.
What is the deal with crosley disks, IE avalibility, years, how well do they work?? and how do you put them on ford axles
