I bought a '60 Edsel Ranger last week. I've owned two '58s and three '59s and always wanted a '60 so I finally took the plunge and bought one. It's Lilac Metallic with a Polar White roof and has had about $14k spent on it in the last couple of years to include new paint, new original style interior, new chrome all around, all new glass (except for the rear window) and a new set of Coker Classic radials. It's the base model with the 6 and 3 on the tree and it runs great. I took it on a 54 mile drive yesterday since it was sunny and in the 60s.... First photo is and under construction shot of the one that's in my avatar. Planning to have it done this summer. The second is my 60 Black Clone. It's kind of under construction too but driveable...

How is it a "clone"? Is it a Sunliner with Edsel sheetmetal added?

I know this is a old thread, but maybe we can revive it like a old Edsel. This is my 59 Ranger. It gets driven weekly now. Need a few things to finish but I love the old car.

More like the other way around. It started life as an Edsel 2dr sedan and had the Sunliner convertible parts grafted to it. Was a project my dad had started 20+ years ago that he gave to me.

That's cool, did the same thing with a GTO and a Skylark convertible donor. I'm guessing a bit more work to start with a post car, looks good though.

Will be posting photos soon of a '60 convert-possible counterfeit car. Does anyone have a drivers side 2 dr window glass with the chrome?
    Thanks, Jim
