My son (10yrs) has found a 69 body with no chassis. Am I right that 68 to 72 A-body frames will fit. He has at least 5 years to build but At least he doesnt want a riceburner. Thanks elroy
No.....I believe they are different. Wagon's, Elky's and 4 door sedans are same WB....Wagon/Elky frames are straight at the back, car frames are a C......
What I do know is that wagons and El Camino's use the same front fenders which are different than the regular cars. I think two door/4 door cars share one frame and wagon/El Camino share another. You'll probably need a station wagon or El Camino frame to fit under it. Check out some musclecar boards, they'll know more specifically.
your right wagons and el camino's share the same frame I've owned three 67's and at least ten 67 chevelles and alot of 4 door malibu parts cars. but not into 67's anymore
I'm not sure about the chassis, but I am finishing up the re-power of my father-in-law's '71 Elky. I'm in MD, we maybe could hook up if you need help. A buddy of mine has a complete '71 elk for sale, you can probably get it cheap enough and it'll give you everything - except the title. PM me for his number
If you are sticking with the 69 the fenders are the same as a Chevelle. I am certain the 70 Elky and wagon used different fenders but I know the 68-69 all used the same fenders as cars. 68 and 69 were different because of the marker lights but will interchange other wise if you use respective grills and trim and bumpers, fillers.
not HAMB approved, but if you want to see a beautiful job go to the texas442.com website and look at the 70.
Don't waste your time. You can still get a complete '69 El Camino for $900- 1500... start with something complete..... don't give yourself a headache!!!
