    Hi guys!
I am in the process of finally installing the T5 trans I bought quite a while ago. Im running all stock clutch parts, new bearings, etc. I am however having a challenge with my driveshaft length.

The driveshaft guy down the street says he doesn't want to lengthen my driveshaft 3.5" (thats what it needs to fit my T5 to stock 1952 rear end) because of the speeds it will be spinning at 65 on the highway. He says it will likely fly off?... I know a ton of people have done this swap, but I can't seem to find info on the driveshaft length, or any other issues on the subject.

Any help is good help, thanks a ton!!

Personally I would NEVER add to a drive shaft unless it's just for a farm truck and never on the open road .
Go to a salvage yard and fine a Ford Aerostar . They have a long alum d/s . Then have is sized down to fut your T 5 .
It's just not work taking that chance with an 60+ year old d/s .

Agreed, shortening is one thing, but making them longer isn't the way to go.

I think they will be cutting off the ends and welding them to a pre cut piece of tubing. Seems like a much better idea.
