I've got a Potvin 425 cam that I'm thinking of using for a well built street engine. It will be a 59AB relieved block with 3-5/16" bore, a 4" crank, .375 Offenhauser heads machined for the .425 lift, and an Offenhauser 3x2 manifold with progressive linkage I've also got a Potvin 425 cam that I need to have Bill Jenks look at it see if it is a good cam. Assuming the cam is good, how well will it work on a street engine? Should I get a cam with a more docile profile? Dan Marvin, Owner Exeter Auto Supply
Hey Dan, I just finished pulling apart my 8ba and it has one in it. It ran great with 2 94's, and had a good lope to it. I'm gonna use it in the rebuild. But I am gonna go with some Barry Grant Demon 98's on it...3 of them, and make my own headers. I would reccomend using it, but only with a stick shift tranny. An automatic would surely bogg at an idle while in gear. Mott
