My bet is $55-60,000. Nice car. I'd keep the air, get a top, I'm an old guy, have had some skin cancer problems so I gotta have a top in Texas! If it were $5000 I still couldn't afford it!!

  5. Both are cool cars. That 32 is easily a 50K plus build. A wok of art. Kerrys T is even cooler. I really dig the guys at Limeworks, As a dealer, I get the most amazing service from them!

I like air conditioning myself, but I have no idea why anyone would put it in a ROADSTER. That's like those goddamn Goldwings that have air conditioning and stereo systems and*****. It's a MOTORCYCLE, dammit!

I dunno. I think if I was buying that for 50k, I'd think a little out of the box and have my Ford powered by a Ford for once. [IMG]

wingnutz I'm 56 and had a 1/4 inch piece removed in crease of my nose last year, was in a good spot as you can't see scar unless you really look close. I lather up with SPF-50 when I am going to be in sun working, long sleeve shirt, hat etc. Just don't want to take any chances. I used to water ski a lot in my 30s, get*****faced stay in sun all day, burn until had 101 fever next day, [IMG] etc, go out & do it again, real********. [IMG]

The RodBods are about 8 grand

Brookville is about 10 and up..... [IMG]

I would rather have a Wescott.....if I was doing repro..

Lots more like the real deal and will not rust.

Does not do anything for me..........I dislike the hood and the windshield.

I am sure he could find fault with my 32 also........

  12. Only a few detail pics opened up on the ebay site, but from what I saw, that second car was built by kerry from Lime Works Speedshop in Whittier...

Man, if I bought it that hood would have to go...and it would bring some bucks to some die hard.

That appears to be one of the sorta rare "winter hoods" for a 32 with the slats chrome plated. Makes it look like a early 30's chevy to me.

I like the rest of the car...but I would take the hood off, change the interior, and put wide whites on it (I just am a wide white kinda guy).

That hood once again makes me wonder why nobody has ever done a good book on 32's like they have on A's with info about stuff like that in it.

Pretty cool car for Ebay, most of the time they only have glass high tech 32's for sale.

You can buy those hoods new from Rootlieb, just like that guy did. Ford never made that hood.

"why nobody has ever done a good book on 32's"
    A couple of good ones:
32 Ford-The Deuce, Tony Thacker (Out of print, very expensive, said to be coming out again soon at Classic Motorbooks)
and De Angelis, The Ford V8 as Henry Built it.

Hmmm, several times I have seen hoods like that and I have always been told they were winter hoods sold up north. The slats closed for winter to keep the motor warm and they opened up in summer to cool. Im not so sure you are right about Ford not making them...

I also don't see the hood under 32's on the Rootlieb website.

HotRod air used to mean windows down, windshield open at 60mph. [IMG]

There probably isn't a Ford part on that car. It's all aftermarket. It's a nicely built streetrod. Pro built it probably cost him at least $75k to have built. And that's without extras like the air. I noticed the add's been pulled. New owner probably doesn't want anyone to know what he paid.

Merc50, I just called Rootlieb for you and they do sell them. They are modeled after Chevrolet louvers of the early 30's.

It's possible that Ford made an optional hood like that for the Model A, but I've never seen one on any 32. If you can prove me wrong I'm game. It's always cool to learn new things.

Hmmm, next time I run into my buddy that has all the deuce stuff I will ask him about the winter hoods again. I know for a fact that they made such a thing...they were far north and Canada accessory hoods and the last one I saw for sale was in MN about two years ago at the BTT50's swap meet. It had big chevy style slats that closed with a lever to keep engine heat in...I had a picture of a car someplace with one, I just need to find it. It was actually a 32 stocker pick up that had the hood on it. My buddy is into odd stuff like that...in fact he has a 34 vegitable truck that is really strange. Anyhow, I will try to dig through my pictures and try to find it. I myself would like to compair it to what is on that car.

Mark, 30roadster used to work with my wife, before he got his practice built up, come to think of it that's probably I got a bad mouth. Then one night after my wife looked over my shoulder, saw what I was typing, said someone you really know is going to read that, embarass me, fussed @ me for my language on the HAMB, I get a PM from this fker says Hey! I think I know you, did your wife used to work at??? That was when Kyle & I met again and became hot rod friends.

You know reading everyone's reply as to what they would do to this beautiful car really sums up what we are all about, hot rodders just can't leave well enough alone, we gotta always be changing & personalizing. If its red oxide primer we want it flat black, if its red we want it green?green? ugh!

I would take the hood sides off, change the wheels, put a 3x2 setup on it to start with! [IMG]

Hey, for what it is worth the owner emailed me back about the car...it is sold now and he said that is the winter hood I am talking about and is not a repop.

I asked my buddy about it and he said the shape of the slats and the little scallop in them is the give away...he said the chevy hood Rootlieb does is not shaped like that...but then again he told me that he had never heard of them doing a "chevy style hood" for Fords either so maybe that is something new. This guy is kind of an expert on these cars so I am going to have to take his word on it. He knows his early Chevys and Fords and has some pretty rare stuff...including a Mercury Series Chevy and some really strange 32 Ford stuff.

The hood the owner of the car in the action said is called a "Pine Winter Hood."

Cool, I guess I learned something. I've never seen one those hoods (or heard of one) and I myself have seen some pretty rare 32 stuff. I own a 32 roadster pickup myself (in a pile of parts though).

I asked the Rootlieb people about the louver doors, but they didn't say anything about a rib on it.

we may never know as the auction has been pulled because "The seller ended this listing early because the item is no longer available for sale." Obviously it sold.
