Hi Guys, I've purchased an item from a company in Brampton Ontario that have quoted me between $110-160 for shipping (box size is 13"x7"x4" and weighs 5 lbs). Canada post will send the package parcel post for less than $35...the company refuses to use Canada Post. Am wondering if someone might be available to pick up the box and drop it into the mail for me? TIA

Companies that wont use Canada Post or US Postal Service to help a customer out really ticks me off. Its lazy as they can have it picked up by a parcel service with no effort or they don't care. If a company won't ship the least expensive way then I will do my very best to find an alternate source. Even if it costs more at an alternate supplier and they will ship it for a lot less it is worth it. I hope you find someone willing to help.
Indeed...they were a bit deceptive from the beginning, I requested an all-in price including shipping and advised that my preference for shipping was Canada Post. They responded that they couldn't provide the shipping cost because they had to bring the item in so they didn't have a package size or weight to quote shipping on (fair enough)...but there was no mention that they wouldn't ship via the mail. Once the item was on hand, suddenly the $75 item carried a $160 freight charge, when I balked they gave me a second quote of $110 for shipping. When I identified that Canada Post would ship it for less than $35, they indicated they don't use Canada Post! Made me angry as well! I took @pprather 's suggestion and searched for and reached out to a HAMB'r nearby...and I'm very pleased to report that @deuceman32 has most graciously offered to help me out. Yet another reason why I'm thankful to @Ryan and the HAMB!!
