  1. Very ghoulish thread, just saw a killer (no pun intended) 1938 S&S at my freinds little museum, in Mt. Dora , Florida. It is all stock and I would have it no other way. Very ornate styling, with these carved curtains on the side. Inside is just as fancy, with exotic veneers and polished chrome. started life as a Cadillac/LaSalle sedan. I can't remember exactly. His wife refuses to ride in the thing, thinks it's haunted.
Most of these funeral cars where kept in superb condition in climate controlled garages. As a young lad, I used to tag along with my Pop, he delivered caskets part time.

I know mine might be a little new for on here. Wanted an older one, but the deal was pretty good and it is a solid car, running and driving.

It's a '71 Superior Cadillac. Have plans to kustomize it. Drop the suspension 2" to 3", lake pipes, I have a set of '71-'72 Eldorado 1/4 panel vertical grilles I want to put just forward of the rear door handles. Throw some wide whites on it, paint it candy apple red metalflake or dark blue metalflake with a white pleated top and interior and carry a tiki theme.

The first pic is how she looked the day I got her. The second pic is at Daytona Turkey Rod Run on the teeter totter competition (13 seconds time). The third pic is one I was messing with just trying to get an idea of how I want her to set.

I had a 69 pontiac hearse when I was in college. The guys would say "I ain't ridin' in that!" The girls would climb right in! Thats just the way I liked it. This also reminds me of what looks like a late 40's or early 50's hearse not far from my house. Better go check on that before the vines on it start greenin' up.

So THAT'S what that trim simulates!

    Duh, it's so obvious now.

Thanks for mentioning that. I never put 2+2 together.

I don't care for that trim either. ;)

Keep 'em coming. I almost bought a '53 Caddy ambulance a long time ago. At about 22 feet long, I wouldn't have known what to do with the darn thing, but it would have been cool.

Some came with a window like the ambulances, 3 different couch builders and they had different models available.

Hre is a side view of my 57 m-M and a factory promo shot of one just like it. The strange thing is that mine was originally the same 2-tone blue. Given how few were built, there is a good chance that it IS my car.

    I've had a '55 S&S, a '56 M/M, and 2 '70 M/Ms - all Cadillacs!

Would LOVE to have a '96 as my daily...

Comin' on pretty heavy man. Personaly I like 'em, had loads of fun in a '59 Ford hearse when I was young. Then there is that whole sinister thing, like havin' skulls on your ride.
