Hot Rods any hot rodders in Baltimore

Hi too all
I have a 51 Mercury at the port in Baltimore that won't go into reverse.
I reckon if the Hood is lifted and the two gear shifters on the column are moved it will go into reverse. I think it is out of sync.It was working fine before it got to the port.
Can anyone help out.
I'm in England so am stuck

Lots of Baltimore area hot-rodders are either in York,Pa. for the NSRA event or Carlisle, Pa. for the All Ford event. Keep checking back. The least I can do is bump this back up. Good luck.
