1951 ford. Got the manual in the glove box. All original, with flat head 6 and overdrive 3 on the tree. original keys stil there. 85k original miles. Doesnt run or drive, but the motor does turn over. Has some rust in the trunk and drivers floor board. Has been garage kept for almost 30 years. I'm thinking of selling it and have no idea what a good price would be.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here ans say it is worth what you want to get out of it. Its a business coupe correct?
how much did it cost brand-new? sell it for that. how much did it cost you? double it. you have a prime HAMB-worthy starting point..... and you want to sell it. put it on Craigslist and trade it for a tuner.
A buddy of mine had a 50 coupe (not as nice as yours) from what i can tell from the pics... but he struggled to get a 1200 out of it. I'll go out on a limb and say 2500-3500 for yours since it doesn't run and have only seen the one pic.
I chased the shoe box business coupe for years, all I could ever land was a sedan. The coupe has excellent lines, way nicer than a sedan. If I had two nickles to rub together I would make sure you knew how much it is worth today, I got a young friend comming up from Oklahoma this weekend. I would think not running more than a grand but less than 2, if you get it running I think you could easliy ask 3 for it, maybe not to me because the drivetrain would be on its way out ASAP but someone is going to want to think they can buy it and drive it.
I'll tell ya one thing, if the motor turns over I would sure as heck get it running before I tried selling it. It might just need a tune up and some fresh fuel for all ya know.
Time spent getting it running/road worthy would be time well spent, easier sell? A friend had one just like it, maybe abit more rust, same engine not running, couldn't get a grand. After months of trying to sell it, he traded for a 50 3/4 ton Ford truck. Depending on location i would think around 3 grand isn't out of line.
Get it running and you may not want to sell it. There is a 1950 4-door here for sale. It has a 302/C4 in it but the mechanicals need finished up. Needs driveshaft, exhaust, engine accessories, and some wiring. The interior was done, it's not perfect but it looks really good. They are asking $3500 for it.
By Chouteau, OK. Bascially at the highway 412 and highway 69 junction. About an hour from Joplin I guess.
you sound like you're simply here fishing for selling prices. and, since you seem to know so little about the car you're asking the value of, i figured you were probably not even INTO the HAMB swing of things... more of a Honda guy. so, politely, deal with it. i'm pretty tame compared to some on here when it comes to handing out hash.
Not running $1200-$1500 if the rust isn't too bad. If you got it running I'd say $2000-$2500. If 63rebel wants it then it would be $5000! .
It is worth, Whatever a willing seller will accept from a willing buyer. That is all it is worth... period. Does it have factory air, in the tires? Might be worth quite a bit.
Ahhh, the can rats are already out on this one... You asked a question so I will give you an answer..... If I WAS LOOKING for a business coupe (the premo of the lot for me) as it sits without knowing tire/brake condition etc. my figure would be in the ~~$1000 range. Running good with decent tires/brakes, etc.....my figure would be in the ~$3500 range.. Good luck and let us know what you do....If I didn't have two projects going now, and wasn't broke, I would be all over it... Cheers,...
