A friend of mine has one of these and has decent things to say about it: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...MEWN:IT&viewitem=&item=110058270261&rd=1&rd=1

So, I just ordered the same thing (the Miller I wanted was out of budget for me, so hopefully this doesnt disappoint) and am expecting it to be delivered tomorrow. Got the dual voltage unit so that I can cut anywhere. 50A at 220V max and my friend says it cuts real clean and easy up to about 5/8", and that'll it's slower and sloppy cut up to an inch.

I'll post my thoughts on this once I dig into it and put it to use more. Plan on using it to cut steel plate for some suspension work projects i have coming up.

Lincoln Welders bought out Century who made Solar , you might check with Lincoln about parts.
I think they have someone in Cleveland who sells replacement parts for the Century and Solar products.

Century makes a decent product, I've used some Century and Solar welders before and they work nice, but if they're discontinued, I'd avoid them since the tips and such will be hard to come by.

That's something you'll probably have forever, so it might be worth spending the extra cash on one with a real name brand on it so you can always keep it running.

  8. Solar brand, huh? All I could picture when I read the title was some kid with a magnifying glass trying to cut trough some 16 ga.

  9. Check with your welding supply, My neighbor found out that there are only a couple of handles and consumables are available and reasonable.
