Ok so this is just in the "mind working" stage of life but would there be any interest at all for having a show in Texarkana TX. I know there are already too many shows to make each year but just for thought: Would any one out here in Hamb land be interested in one more? Some leg work has been done by others (hubnut) and it looks good for the city to allow it but interest is my big concern. Monkey, Rashy, Flt.Black, Reverendz, Lil Mike would any of you kats be interested in that kind of a drive? There is some local interest from some of the squeeker groups but hell that aint no fun. Any way let me know what you think kats.
IMO we really need more traditional-oriented shows/runs/events. There's a lot of HAMBers within reasonable driving distance for Texarkana. Depends on when it is, and what kind of show, but I'd be interested. (It wouldn't be worth it for me if I have to wade thru 200 Camaros and Chevelles and late model trucks to see 3 kool hot rods or kustoms that I have already seen.) Keep me posted!
[ QUOTE ] Depends on when it is [/ QUOTE ] This weekend is a good example, 12 shows within a two hundred mile radius. I'm interested......... Happy Trails, Mick
Timing is everything so it would have to be carefully schedualed as far as Camero's and Chevelle's blehch. I'm more interested in more of a pre 62 base show not to say others wouldn't be allowed but thats the target market anyway.

It depends on if it is in Arkansa or Texas. I may be wanted in one or both states. Can't remember. It was one hell of a weekend! Yeah, I'd be interested, I can't even seem to shake loose enough to go to the shows that currently exist though. RASHY
I'd love to go to a HAMB-style show. Purely as a spectator though, unless you have a special category for "semi-mobile rust buckets". This time next year will hopefully be a different story.
[ QUOTE ] Could ya get em to shut down the pulp mills for the weekend?????? [/ QUOTE ] I forgot about the pulp mills. Make sure it's during the hottest part of the summer. ROOT, what's up with your Luau thing? RASHY
DOH!!! Is that a Saturday or Sunday? There is a deal at DeadTown (Downtown Tulsa) that weekend. RASHY
Well, if you have to be like that. It is a bar that tends to have alot of Rockabilly music. There are a few posers, as anywhere, but the core group are good guys. MONKEY has a hand in setting it up. RASHY
No, still just me. No matter how unpopular it is. So, you didn't answer me. Is that Sat or Sun? RASHY
Interesting... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB1&Number=402557&Forum=All_Forums&Words=Tulsa&Match=Entire%20Phrase&Searchpage=1&Limit=25&Old=1month&Main=402557&Search=true#Post402557
[ QUOTE ] Could ya get em to shut down the pulp mills for the weekend?????? [/ QUOTE ] Yea****down can stink the place up pretty bad but its only some of the time.....or maybe I'm just too used to it. If Texarkana is not of interest maybe Hot Springs...huh..maybe..what do ya think. Texarkana would be great for me cause I wouldn't have to get a hotel room I'd just go home for the night...uh morning....uh well who needs sleep anyway.
OOOOOhhhhhh, Hot Springs!!! Something for the ladies to do! Does the world really need another show?
Roooooooooooot!!!!! Come down to the shop and check it out before ya knock it. We gotta lot of cool***** goin on right now. 27 T roadster, 28 Tall T coupe, 55 chevy, 54 chevy, 51 GMC pickup, 60 chevy, 72 cuda and a few more odds and ends. We have a lot a fun and I know you would enjoy it. Sunday night drags in front of the bar and shops are always fun. Jester, Give me a date and get some info together. Let me know. later, monk
The date is most critical. This paricular weekend is set for Route 66 or McPhail's dig. June 26 is the DeadTown thang. I'm interested, but you should just look to see if there is a lame date somewhere for the summer. I think your greatest challenge will be recruiting. Kar show kats want some kind of kool incentive most of the time. Whether that be the scene, a kool shirt, or whatever. Think hard about it. It does always seem the minute you set a date for something the**** falls out right before it happens (ie the Mid-Am HAMBchop). That never fabricated because of multiple things. Keep us posted, Reverend Jake
Thanks for the replies, I hope that something will be able to materialize for next session. I was hoping that some of you kats would be interested so as to not waste time and energy on a hopeless cause. Looks like its time for more leg work and I'll update as I know something. Again thanks for the replies. Jester
Monkey, I am just messin with Rashy Crotch..........any other day and I would come. The 26th is our Hot Rod Luau.
