I'll give ya 50 bucks for it, that would look killer on my AV8. buy it 'cause it's cool, you want it, or someone is threatening to trash it. don't buy it just to turn a profit, you'll have to change your name to barrett or jackson. it's awesome but it's not something that you'll be able to flip tommorrow there's probably one guy looking for that part and you'll have to find him.
I pass on the 50 lol they had it on the curb to be hauled off and they said I could have what ever I want off of it. I grabbed the grill/rad because it was cool and it would look good on the shop wall or a future project... That is why I grabed it not to turn a profit... Once I saw the name on it and never heard of one I thought I should find out more info on it....If it was worth a mint I wouldn't mind selling to someone that needs it as I do not need it was just a cool find for me... Mr.B Jackson Does anyone know what year it might be off of???
Not all Marmons were V-16's. They also made 4's, 6's, and 8's. http://www.thecarburetorshop.com/PkitM.htm#PMARMON Most early carburetors were of the updraft design, hanging under the manifold. Remember that mechanical fuel pumps were still a thing of the future when these automobiles were built. Jon.
So the flathead six might be a Marmon?? Does anyone know how I can tell for sure if it is or not??? Is there something on a Marmon straight six that will let me know if it is or not???
You only took the Radiator and Shell??? I would have dragged the whole thing Home FIRST,then asked questions.
awesome... I sat in waiting to see who would drop the first mormon comment... hahahha. no offense to the LDS. those marmons are sweet*****.
does the motor turn?i would go get the rest of it,if for anything the wheels would be good garage art.
Just went back to see if I could get more info off the motor... Cops where there and pissed because they ordered the eviction of all the stuff out of the house and people where picking it over... They told me and another guy to go away and all of this is going to the dump it is not yours it belongs to the city and we are getting rid of it!! LOL some time cops and city government can be funny!! Why the hell do they care?? I know the house and it has been empty for at least two years that I know of!! Hell the ol guy that I talked to this morning said the ol welder has been in that underground garage for 50 or so years!! He thought it was long gone years ago!! LOL So off to the dump all the cool***** goes!! Man I need an old truck bad!!
Call in a bomb scare, so the cops have something else to do while you go fetch your goodies! Oh wait, don't do that.
Yes back in the 70s i owned a 1971 Marmon cabover with a****mins engine did heavl haul with it. Later i picked up a load at their mfg.plant in Texas, and got a tour of the****embly line. The special hi securty trucking div. for the Gov. out of Amorillo tx. used them for years armored bullit proof glass, tires. Really hush/hush stuff. Jobob
Oh ya I forgot you have a truck now... A bad**** one at that... I am looking so if you come across another one let me know.. I have some cash and a Marmon Grill shell for trade
There is a good chance the police will not be there when the loader comes to move it all. Give the mover a $20 and walk away with it.
Call Harry Sherry and tell him John Poole sent you from this web-site. He is big on Marmons and restoring them. He knows alot of people with Marmons. His # is 705-652-8321 The Old Tinbasher
Well, I came across some old cars in North Dakota backcountry about 25 years ago. Found the farmer who owned the pasture and bought a '31 steel top Model A pickup cab and some Model A fenders from him. I passed on a fairly complete late 1920's Marmon Sedan that was there because I'd never heard of one. Probably should have snagged it, if there are only like 300-400 of the things around today.
